I have longed to own one of these busses for several years, although maybe in purple with big flowers all over it. They are currently not available in the USA, but a girl can dream. Wait maybe a metallic tie dye after market paint job!

I got several opportunities to be a passenger in this vehicle while visiting Astypalaia. The island has a fleet of VW EVs that they use as a transportation system. It is truly a fabulous way to get around the island. You make a reservation with your app and proceed to the preselected bus station at the appointed time. They are never late, so make sure you can get to the stop before the pick up time.

The problem is the size of the bus. It is huge with three rows of seating. Way too large for me to park in auto clogged LosAngeles. I would never be able to park it. I am used to driving small cars. The VW GTI was my favorite car ever!

So my dream of owning a VW Buzz is fading into the sunset . Major bummer.
